After trying to digest your slides, then the participant’s attention back to your speech.

This means, you lose the attention of participants by 40 seconds per slide. If you have 100 slides, you will lose the 4000 seconds, or 66 minutes … It is very dangerous! This is your duty to minimize lost time by your presentation design ( presentation skills ).

Presentation skills – ways to reduce contact lose
The key success for this presentation skills is how to make a slide as simple as possible. Your slides should be digested participants in 3 seconds. Therefore, you should be able to present a slide as short as possible. The easiest way to do this is to translate the information into a graph, summary or picture. So, there are three presentation skills for this purpose:

  • Presentation skills #1: Using Graph

  • Presentation skills #2 : Summarizing the word

  • Presentation skills  #3 : Use of images / drawing

Presentation skills #1: Using Graph
If you want to convey the development of sales from time to time for one year, you can transform your sales data into the line graphs. Looking at the trend up or down through this line graph will be done quickly by the participants of your presentation. I think just a second, participants can draw the conclusion that the sales trend up or down.

If you do not make a line graph, you present the sales data in the form of complex numbers, then this slide is not effective. Participants will take time and harder to understand. For other purposes you can use a bar chart or pie graph. Each chart has a different emphasis.

Presentation skills #2 : Summarizing the word
If you have a long-information, such as the Standard Operational Procedures (SOP), then make sure you do not write it all in your slides. If you write it all, then the participant you will be reading your slides to take a long time. My advice is, write the main points only, for example:
Standard Operational Procedures

  • Treatment Chemicals

  • Physical treatment

  • Separation

  • Transportation

It's just that you display in the slide. Participants only need 3 seconds to digest that your slides. Details on each process your express verbally. This is a good presentation skills.

The way to summarizing the word is to ask, if there were any words that can be discarded? Ask again and again until you are sure that there are no more words can you dispose from your slides.

Presentation skills  #3 : Use of images / drawing
If you wish to inform of the process, sure, using the image (drawing) better than use using the words.
